First Impressions: Covergirl Fresh Complextion concealer!

So the other day I bought a covergirl Concealer. I bought it in the color classic ivory. One of lightest colors! Anyways I tried it out and i put it on a blemish I have. This concealer is not a cream concealer. I could tell the minute I opened it. I used the tip and put it on my blemish. Patted it in because your supposed to pat concealer, not rub it. And the first thing I noticed was that it was quite watery. This product provided adequate coverage. I would definitely recommend using foundation with this product as well. It only provides middleish coverage!

First Impression: Loreal Foam Hair color

For the first time yesterday I used loreal foam hair color. At the beginning I was excited to try this product. First I changed into a shirt I never wear anymore and got ready to color my hair. I did the first step and Put bottle one into bottle two. The smell was super ranky. You definitely have to turn on a fan for this product. Anyways aside from the smell I put it in my hair like the instructions say. Although I would definitely recommend doing it in layers though. I put it in and let it sit for thirty minutes. During this time I noticed it itched more than regular hair coloring kits. The smell of it really BURNS your nose. When the time was up I rinsed it out and used the conditioner. I blow dried my hair and didn't even notice a difference in my hair color!

I don't think I would recommend this product because of the smell, itch and the lack of results.

How to whiten your teeth naturally

Everyone wants a white smile :). So here is how to get it. This is natural and you use items most people have in their homes
SUPPLIES:
1. Strawberries (2)
2. Baking soda
3.A bowl
4. A spoon
5. A tiny bit of milk

So the first step is putting the strawberries and baking soda in the bowl. Mix them and make sure its a mush ( like apple sauce) And then ad about two teaspoons of milk. Dip your toothbrush in the mixture and brush your teeth with it. This will last about two days so use sparingly and keep refrigerated. You should see a change in about a week or so.

Softer Hands at home

Brown Sugar and Milk- Mix brown sugar and milk in a bowl until you get a liquidy substance. Then place your finger tips in the bowl, scoop some up and rub it with your hands, into your hands. The coarse grains in the brown sugar will help peel away dead skin and refurbish it. Then once your hands have been scrubbed for five to six minutes wash your hands. Pat dry with a towel and put on a hand cream moisturizer. If you really want this to soak in wear cotton or latex gloves when you sleep. Do it right before bed.

Self Tanners

Many People have asked me about self tanners...Self tanners are not a permanent thing but should not be applied on the night before an important event.
  1. how self tanners work; they work by dyeing the top layer of the skin. They last about three to five days and gradually wear off.
  2. How do you apply self tanners?
    •  It depends on the product. Most self tanners have instructions on the bottle. The main way is squeezing the product into your hand and applying it. Then wash the product off of your hands because they absorb the color more than any other part of your body. Some products come with a clothlike glove. You put the product onto the glove and rub it into your skin. Always exfoliate your skin before using self tanners because of dead skin cells sitting on the top layer of your skin.
  3. Why does self tanner stink? Not all self tanner stinks, sometimes its the product and sometimes it the chemical reaction with your skin.

how to fix a broken nail

This article will tell you how to fix a broken nail without cutting it off!
    If you are trying to fix your nails but want to keep the length here is how;
 What you will need:

What you need to do. First cut the tea bag open, dump out all the contents. Then take the nail glue or crazy glue and put it all over your nail. Cut the tea bag so it will fit onto your nail and place it on top of the glue. Let this dry and when tacky press onto nail to insure no bubbles. After the glue has dried the nail will feel rough. First Impressions-Nair All Natural Milk and Honey Roll on Wax

Recently I bought a Nair Roll on wax kit. I first decided to buy this when i saw the commercial. I'm going to walk you through exactly what I did and how I feel about the product.
You follow the instructions on the sheet. I did the steps and put the wax in the microwave. It rolls on very well and is quite runny (a good runny). and i continued and placed the paper pieces over the wax and let er rip. I noticed that it leaves patches of hair everywhere. It didn't work as well as I hoped. In total  I would give this product a 6 out of ten.

Since razor burn usually results in scabbing and raised skin, the best way to get rid of it is to allow it to heal before shaving again. There are of course, additional steps you can take to speed up the healing process:

  • Use a mild exfoliant that contains salicylic acid daily. This will slough off old, dead surface skin that otherwise could clog up your pores and limit oxygen to the effected areas. Do not scrub razor-burned skin. (ow!)
  • Use aloe vera or tea tree oil creams and sprays. They will speed up your recovery and soothe that raw feeling that accompanies razor burn.
  • Shave carefully until it heals, switch to a razor with a single-blade or wire guard for a while. The shave won't be close, but you won't be slicing your skin up before it can heal either. (Learn how to get rid of razor bumps)
  • If you continue shaving, combine these steps with the preventative steps in the next section.
Do not:
  • Use any products containing alcohol - it will dry out your skin and increase irritation.
  • Scrub or scratch razor burned skin. It will increase irritation and the risk of infection.
  • Apply colognes or perfumes to razor burned skin.

3. How to prevent razor burn

Proper razor burn prevention involves reducing the likelihood of slicing off anything other than hair. Adopt the following steps for a few weeks and see how they work for you:

1. Prepare your skin and hair for the shave:

  • Bathe and exfoliate first. You can use a loofah, shower puff, or a chemical exfoliant that contains salicylic acid to remove dirt, oil and dead skin so the razor will glide smoothly and evenly.
  • Cover the area to be shaved with conditioner or skin lotion and let it sit for a few minutes prior to shaving - don't rub it into the skin. This will soften the hair and make the shave much easier. Don't let it sit longer than five minutes either as your skin will start to absorb the moisture and puff up, keeping you from getting a close shave. Alternatively, you can soak some wash cloths with the hot, steamy water and apply them to your skin for a few minutes.
  • Shaving brushTrade in your shaving cream or gel for some old-fashioned shaving soap, a mug and a badger brush. These soaps are less expensive, provide superior lubrication, and the use of the brush stands the hair up for a superior shave. Find them at your local supermarket.

2. Shaving technique:

  • Make sure your blade is clean and sharp.
  • Shave in slow, small strokes tapping the razor under hot water to clean it between each stroke. A blade full of hair won't sit evenly against the skin.
  • Loose skin should be held taut - but not stretched.
  • Apply only as much pressure as is needed.
  • Shave with the grain as much as is possible to achieve the closeness you desire.
  • If you must double back over an area, apply more lubricant (soap or cream) first.

Brrrrrrrr!3. Post-shave skin care:

  • Splash cold water or run an ice cube over your freshly shaven skin to close up your pores. Ice works just as well as alcohol and will not dry out your skin.
  • Apply an aloe vera (For other uses of aloe vera, read 12 wondrous benefits of aloe vera) or tea tree oil balm to moisturize, soothe and cool your skin.
If after following the previous steps you still find yourself getting razor burn and ingrown hairs, consider experimenting with alternative hair removal methods. There are creams and powders that dissolve hair as well as waxes and sugar solutions that pluck it. If you're set on shaving, see if your barber or stylist will teach you how to shave with a straight razor.

  • (submitted by visitor) I get rid of a pimple completely overnight, or about 1 to 2 days, (depending on how severe the blemish). Pop your pimple. by sliding the edge of something, across it, and popping it. Then 1/4 fill your sink with warm water, and pour about a half cup of salt to the water. Take a cotton ball or cotton square or round, and soak it in the salty water for about 30 seconds, moving it around in the water getting it good and salty. Take it out and squeeze out the water. Apply the cotton ball to pimple, and push down. if it doesn't tingle, put more salt on the cotton ball. When it does tingle, push down for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, DO NOT WASH OFF THE SALT THAT STAYS ON YOUR FACE!!! Take Some honey and drop it on a Q-tip. Apply honey to pimple and leave on for 15 minutes. After 15 min is up, rinse off with water. Then apply a dab of toothpaste and leave overnight.

How to get rid of large pores

Large pores should always be kept clean so that there is no dirt and oil left inside the pores to cause pimples, acnes and black heads. One can use gentle facial scrubbers and icial face packs to tone up the size of the pores. Some home made scrubs and packs are good enough in reducing the appearance of the size of the big and opened skin pores.
  • Tomato has toning agents in it. If tomato juice has been applied on the skin regularly with a cotton ball and left for 20 minutes, helps in reducing the size of the pores. It shrinks the pores and makes them appear visibly smaller. You can add tomato juice to calamine powder or sandalwood powder, which are good to tone up the skin, which helps in even reducing the size of the pores. These packs help skin to reduce the sebum production and it helps in decreasing the size of the pores.
  • Mashed papaya applied on the skin helps in toning the pores. You can directly apply a mashes papaya on your skin or can put it over a gauge. You need to wash it off with lukewarm water.
  • White portion of the egg has skin toning and complexion enhancing ingredients. Whipped egg yolk applied on the skin with a few drops of lemon juice, improves the tone of the skin and reduces the pore size. This pack is extremely good for Middle Ages women.
  • Honey is equally good to tone up the pores and reduce the oiliness from the skin. It can be applied in any of the facemask or can be directly applied on the skin with a little lemon juice and sugar to it. You can massage it on face and leave it for few minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Honey added to milk powder too helps if applied on the skin.
  • A paste made of salt and butter is helpful in reducing pore size if applied on them.
  • Regularly use toner on your skin with a cotton ball. To some extent it helps in temporary reducing the size of the pores.
  • Oatmeal and gram flour are good toning substance. You can add a little lemon juice, rose water and curd to them and apply on the skin. Wash this pack off when it dries. It tones the pores and enhances the complexion.
  • If you have breakouts on your skin then avoid using lemon juice or any such thing on your skin without a doctor's knowledge. Calamine powder and sandalwood powder are safe to be applied on the pimples or acnes.
  • Always remove make up while going to bed. Never sleep with your make up on. Let the skin breath. Heavy make up left on the skin for long hours too increase the size of the pores.
  • If you do wax your face, you have more chances to get open pores so always be careful while doing it. Always make sure that you apply a soothing face pack based on calamine or sandalwood on your face after waxing it to close the pores.
  • You can rub an ice cube on your skin wrapped in a cotton cloth on your face to temporary reduce the size of the pores. Ice shrinks the size of the pores and it's a good way to make the pores appear smaller if you are going somewhere out as it even decreases the oil production on the skin for sometime.
If you regularly concentrate to care about the skin and make efforts to reduce the size of the pores, it's not impossible to get the results. If not permanently, but you can temporarily reduce the size of the pores and can help in increasing further in the size. Applying toner, tightening facemasks and using toning creams too helps in decreasing the problem to some extent. Though one cannot cure this problem permanently, one can at least prevent the pores from becoming bigger. Keep the skin clean, don't use oily make up products and eat healthy food to keep the skin beautiful and young. Natural ingredients are anyways cost effective and very helpful in treating any of the skin problems.
